Mr Timothy A Zalanga is the pioneer Director Corporate Planning. He is responsible for developing Strategic Plans and Policy for the Corporation as well as overseeing the Procurement, Research, Health, Safety, Environment and Information and Communications activities for the Corporation. He equally heads the Public Private Partnership (PPP) Unit of the Corporation.
He is undergoing a PhD programme in Business Management with North Central University in the USA and currently holds an M.Sc in Logistics and Supply Chain Management from Cranfield University UK, an MBA (Finance) and Bachelor’s degree (B.Tech.) Computer Science from Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University (ATBU) Bauchi.
Mr. Zalanga has over twenty five (25) years of experience in Information Technology (IT), Logistics, Supply Chain and Corporate Strategic Management. He started his career as Graduate Assistant with Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University (ATBU) Bauchi, from where he graduated. He later moved to AshakaCem PLC, a subsidiary of Lafarge as a Computer Analyst where he grew to become the first indigenous Head of the IT Department of the Company. He was later offered to pioneer the then newly created Logistics Department of AshakaCem PLC. From AshakaCem PLC, He moved to join Dangote Cement as the pioneer Head of Logistics for the Largest Cement factory in Africa, with the then production capacity of five (5) million tons per annum in addition to handling other inbound materials as well as depots management.
During the course of his career, he had the opportunity to travel across the World for working visits, business meetings, conferences and seminars.
Mr Zalanga has written a number of papers and articles mainly in the areas of ICT, Strategic Management and Logistics & Supply chain.
Mr Zalanga is a chartered member of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS), Logistics and Transport (CILT), Institute for Operations Research of Nigeria (INFORN), Institute of Transport Administration (InsTA) as well a member of Computer Society of Nigeria (CSN) and Nigeria Institute of Management (NIM).
Mr Zalanga is married and has three boys.
